PROPOSTA PROGETTUALE PER IL COMPLETAMENTO DELLA PASSEGGIATA PORTUALE DA PONTE PARODI AL TERMINAL TRAGHETTI   - GENOVA  

 

Il progetto propone di collegare funzionalmente tutti i terminal passeggeri, di rendere più facile l'accesso da questi alla viabilità e al trasporto pubblico urbano, di completare la passeggiata portuale da Ponte Parodi alla Lanterna articolando  la darsena con l'ambito del Porto Antico e con il centro storico.

Il percorso si rapporta visivamente e funzionalmente con le emergenze monumentali presenti (Palazzo del Principe, Villa Rosazza, la Lanterna) e riprogetta in modo integrato gli ambiti degradati di Piazza Di Negro, Piazzale S. Benigno, del tratto di Via Milano tra questo e il terminal Traghetti e del piazzale del terminal stesso.

 

PROPOSAL FOR COMPLETION OF THE HARBOUR WALK FROM PARODI BRIDGE TO THE FERRYBOATS AIR TERMINAL - GENOA

 

Genoa grew up around its natural harbour that has been one of the most important seaport in the Mediterranean sea.

Today the container terminals has been transferred in the west side of the city and in the ancient harbour they are located  the cruise and ferry boat terminals, and mixed used areas (commercial tourist, retail. In these areas there are important iconic monuments like the old lighthouse (the symbol of Genoa), old cotton docks (transformed in exhibition and congress centre), the old navy piers (transformed in museum, acquarium, university and research areas)

The new waterfront insert a twin circuit:

 

• new pedestrian promenade along the all ancient harbour mixing existing squares or piers with new iron bridges or elevated and wood walkway crossing the forbidden port areas

• new light people mover line (long 1, 5 Km)
